Sultanpur Primary School

The pilot project at Sultanpur Primary School is considered a huge success! Photos showing students using the last batch of chairs and tables we delivered this week and the photos taken with the school principal and villagers. They are very grateful to receive the donation from #100schoolproject

Update from India - we are still busy building the rest of the study desks for Sultanpur Primary School.

The progress is slower than expected because of the unreliable electricity in summer (power outages are very common) and some issues with material sourcing.

We hope to make a trip to India in June 2017 to get an update and feedback from the local coordinator and the school. If you are interested, please feel free to pm us to get more details.

The prototype of the smaller study desk was delivered to the school last week. WE think the small desks will suit the younger children. A thumbs up from the teacher and students! #100schoolproject

Latest news from #100schoolsproject #India- we are busy working on the fabrication of a new prototype chair with lower heights, which will better suit primary school children in the area. (special thanks to our local coordinator Raj!)

The generous support from all of you at the "Dinner for a Good Cause" has allowed us to place an order of additional 20 study desks with the local carpenter in Bihar this week (Thank You!).

This time, the headmaster of the local school will also get involved in ensuring that the desks are meeting their school's requirements.

However, the fabrication work will not start this week because of the Holi Festival.

We made it!! 10 desks and chairs were delivered on 21st February 2017. The 1st classroom is equipped with tables and chairs! According to the coordinator, the children are extremely happy, and they said they will now go to school every day. Thank you for your generous support. This is a great start!
